Lesson Section Q & A
How should I prepare for a lesson?
- Allow yourself plenty of time to get your lift tickets and pick up your rental equipment before meeting at your scheduled time.
- When you purchase your lift ticket, pick up a brochure with a trail map. This will help you find where to go.
- Keep an open mind and try to enjoy the time out on the slopes. Skiing and snowboarding are very "mental" sports. If you think you can do it, you should be able to. If you think you can't, you may make it harder on yourself. Except where noted, lift tickets and rental equipment are an additional charge.
Are lessons just for beginners?
Of course not! Lessons are for anyone that is interested in becoming better at the sport. Even if you are already an expert, you can push the envelope! Come and test your abilities against one of our top guns in an advanced session. Whether it's steeps, bumps, carving, prevailing conditions, terrain park or trees, we've got people that can do it!
What kind of release or permission form is needed for kids prior to coming to Mad River?
We do not require any signed releases for snowboard lessons or to purchase a lift ticket. In our rental department, renter's are required to give us their correct height, weight, and ability level so that we can properly adjust the equipment to the person. Snowboard rentals require contact information. There are no age requirements. Some reading or writing is required, but we can also help anyone that is unable. The process is pretty easy and worry-free.
