First Snowmaking of the Season

First Snowmaking Of The Season

MAD RIVER MOUNTAIN,ZANESFIELD, OHIO- Thursday, November 29, 2007

Mad River Mountain Ski Area in Zanesfield, Ohio turned on their snowguns for the first time this morning at 8:00am to begin pumping out the snow for the 2007-08 ski season. With the largest snowmaking capacity in Ohio and the first ski area in the state to begin making snow, Mad River Mountain is looking forward to a December opening, weather permitting.

Even after last season’s $2.5 million expansion, including 2 new trails, a new chair lift, and a new snow tubing facility, Mad River Mountain has been able to make some additional improvements for this season. Among these are a second brand new carpet lift for the Avalanche Tubing Park, a special $20 weekday ticket, $15 weekday tubing tickets, and a new military discount. “We’re really looking forward to starting the season,” says General Manager Bruce Mowrey.
