Advisors - Bring your school or youth group to the mountain to learn to ski and ride or enhance your skills! Our program is designed to give your students the experience of a lifetime in a five week program. Each student will receive a lift ticket for each day of the program plus rentals and an hour-long lesson at a value rate.

Become An Advisor
As an advisor, you'll be working hand-in-hand with the resort teams and your students to build the next generation of skiers and riders. Here's what you can expect when becoming an advisor:
- Work with the resort team to determine which day of the week works best
- Promote the program to your students! We will provide flyers and social media posts to help drive sign ups
- Provide the registration steps for participants and compile a group roster for all members of your group
- Communicate with parents to ensure that students are registered by 12/16
- Once the program begins, send reminders to students ahead of their program dates and assist with transportation (if you are including through your organization)

Learning to ski or snowboard is more than just an after school activity. In Slope Days, your child will learn the basics of skiing or riding while gaining confidence, perseverance, endurance, and a true love for the outdoors. By signing your child up for this program, you are opening the door to a winter activity they can carry with them for the rest of their lives. Unlock the magic of winter with Slope Days!
What’s Included:
- Rental equipment including skis, boots, poles (optional) and a helmet OR snowboard, boots, and a helmet.
- A one hour lesson (time determined by resort).
- A lift ticket for each day or evening of the program.
- Please Note: The resort does not accept cash for any in-resort purchases including food & beverage or retail. We accept credit cards, debit cards or resort gift cards. Apple Pay and Google Pay are accepted at some food and beverage locations. Resort gift cards can be purchased onsite at the resort or over the phone by calling the resort. We also accept American Express gift cards which can be purchased online HERE.
What To Expect:
What a typical program day looks like once the group arrives at the resort:
- The advisor will have all lift tickets, rental vouchers, and lesson information.
- Advisor will ensure each participant gets where they need to go to secure rentals and join the lesson.
- Child will participate in a one hour lesson with one of our excellent Ski & Ride School Instructors. The lessons are not required but highly recommended and included in the price of the program.
- After the one hour lesson the students will be released at the designated Ski and Ride School pickup area. All participants are welcome to free ski/ride until their group departs. During free ski/ride time, there will not be a resort employee with the children and the advisor is responsible for all participants. The advisor will communicate departure time and meeting place.

School Program FAQs
What Groups Qualify as a school or youth group?
Any group of 15 or more children who are all between the ages of 7-18.
Who qualifies as an advisor?
Anyone who is 18 or older. Usually this person is affiliated with a school, church, or other youth-oriented group and is willing to take on the role of coordinator and primary chaperone.
Is an advisor required for a child to participate?
Yes, a child must be affiliated with an advisor over the age of 18 who is coordinating the program for a group of 15 or more kids.
Note: If your school, church, neighborhood, etc. does not have an advisor coordinating this program and you’d like your child to participate, please email MadRiverGroupSales@vailresorts.com. If enough students are interested we will open up a House Club where one of our staff members acts as the advisor. We will communicate via email if this option becomes available.
- Work with the resort to secure weekly date and time of program.
- Communicate program details to all parents and students, including link to register and unique group ID number. Ensure all participants are registered no later than the registration deadline.
- Identify and coordinate additional adult chaperones as needed.
- Additional complimentary single day lift tickets are available for every 15 students registered. (Example: 45 students = 3 complimentary lift tickets for each day of the program). Chaperones can use the lift ticket to ski on the day of the program, save it to come another day, or give to a friend or family member. Advisor comp tickets are transferable and are redeemable anytime during the 24/25 season. Valid all day!
- Advisors are responsible for conveying resort information to the school participants & acting as the student/parent liaison for any issues or concerns.
- Advisors are responsible for giving out and collecting signed rental waivers from each participant, and notifying resort of rental headcount no later than 3 weeks before the first day of the program.
- Advisors are responsible for getting a headcount of students planning to participate in the lesson each day.
- Advisors organize their school club, transportation, and facilitate communication to their participants.
- The advisor receives perks based on the number of individuals in their club that they have registered. A student must be enrolled in the club program to count towards the final club total.
- All participants must be between the ages of 7-18 years old.
- Students who are pass holders using the club for transportation will not count towards the roster/club total.
- Lift tickets and rental vouchers for each student participant and additional chaperones will be available each day of the program upon arrival at the resort. The advisor will visit the ticket window to collect all tickets and forms.
A full refund is available as long as the resort is notified via email at least 48 hours before the start time of the first day of the program. Please email MadRiverGroupSales@vailresorts.com if a child is no longer able to participate. No refunds will be given within or after 48 hours before the start time of the first day.
What happens if an advisor has less than 15 kids signed up for the program?
If an advisor has less than 15 kids registered for the program, they can request a full refund at least 48 hours before the start time of the first day of the program, OR work with their resort contact to transfer to a regular group booking.
If a child has to miss a day of the program, can they get a refund for that day?
No partial refunds for missed days will be given. No refunds will be given within or after 48 hours before the start time of the first day.
What happens if the resort closes due to weather or other circumstances?
If the resort is closed or the resort needs to cancel a program date for any reason, a makeup day will be scheduled. If the resort is unable to offer a makeup day, a refund will be issued for the canceled day only.
